Familial breast cancer - the classification and care of women at risk of familial breast cancer in primary and secondary care (June 2004)

NICE has issued its clinical guidance on familial breast cancer to the NHS in England and Wales. Clinical guidelines are recommendations on the appropriate treatment and care of people with specific diseases and conditions within the NHS in England and Wales.

This information describes the guidance that the NICE has issued to the NHS on assessing a woman’s risk of having a type of breast cancer that runs in families (called ‘familial breast cancer’) and on caring for women who are at risk of familial breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Service Guidance - Update (August 2002)
